SAP Vancouver

At SAP I worked on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). It is a planning & analytics web and mobile app for administrators, data scientists, analysts, managers, and other types of users. Due to the huge user base and the software functionalities being highly complex, it was a challenge to design for so many types of users that may encounter many different use cases and scenarios. Tackling these problems was a challenge but I learned how to solve for these highly complex scenarios with considerations of the users’ intents and goals. I am very fortunate to work with highly skilled professionals that have trained me well. I quickly learned the features in SAC and was able to produce & push design work.

I mainly worked with the Augmented BI (Business Intelligence) Team within the Design Team at SAP. I also got the opportunity to connect with others at SAP either through team socials or working on projects together. I really enjoyed working with the team. Everyone has been really supportive and friendly.

Intern Committee

SAP has a GREAT intern program. I was selected to be the Communications Lead in the Intern Committee. My role consisted of creating and distributing a newsletter bi-weekly to inform interns about upcoming events, updates happening at SAP and the Intern Committee. I worked alongside three Career Event Leads, 3 Social Event Leads and 2 Coordinators. I also supported the team in various ways, including prepping visual assets for events and helping to run events. I gained experience and great appreciation for all the work required to create a sense of community among the interns. I had the opportunity to work with amazing people.

In the second half of my internship, I took on the role to be an Events Manager, I hosted events virtually for over 100 interns at SAP across Canada. From speed meeting people to having more intimate conversations in smaller groups to even fun events like Jeopardy. I tried to organize creative and intriguing events with the other Event Managers that would create opportunities for interns to meet one another despite being remote.

d-shop

d-shop is an SAP Engagement group that experiments with new technology, the team would invest a small amount of time per week (ex. 1 - 2 hours) to work towards the project. I joined the group that worked with VR/AR. We created a VR/AR environment to teach people about what SAP does, how they help out the community and what it’s like to work there. As the UX/UI designer, I helped scope out the work that the team did, designed the layout of each room and created visuals assets for the rooms.
